Fresh cut flowers care and handling
- Trim about 2-3cm from the bottom of the stems at a 45-degree angle.
- Place the flowers in a clean vase with fresh water.
- Change the water regularly after the second day.
- If you buy flowers in a vase, there will already be water. So, you only need to follow the above steps the day after you get the flowers.
- If your flowers came in a basket, box or other container with foam, you just need to top up the water daily, so the flowers don’t dry out. 1/4 cup of water each day is enough to keep the foam wet.
- Keep flowers away from direct sunlight and heating or cooling vents.
- Do not place your arrangement near fruit or in the path of cigarette smoke. The ethylene gas is detrimental to many flower types.
- Keep the arrangement in a cool spot (65 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit).
Please keep in mind that flowers are perishable and have a life of their own. Enjoy your flowers!
